WHERE TO STAY
Waupaca has been a vacation destination for almost 100 years so there are many, many activities available in the area for both you in your free time or for families or friends who may accompany you while you pursue fiber arts. Check out www.WaupacaAreaChamber.com or www.innwisconsin.com for information.
Lambs Quarters particularly supports the following places to stay:
Crystal River Inn
(accessible through www.crystalriver-inn.com)
is located in the historic Village of Rural just 6 miles away along a meandering river on a quiet street. For those who do not care if lots of shopping is within walking distance but just want a peaceful 1850's surrounding, this is the place. There are very limited shops in town.
Green Fountain Inn
(accessible through www.greenfountaininn.com)
is located on Main Street in the City of Waupaca within walking distance of restaurants, antique shops, library, and other unique retail stores. Green Fountain Inn, an easy 10 miles from Lambs Quarters, offers four comfortable rooms. Located behind the inn is The Natural Sanctuary that offers many healing experiences while in the kitchen of the inn is the Backdoor Bakery with a tiny cafe outside.
Hartman Creek State Park
For the camper-types, this well-known state park is 9.5 miles from Lambs Quarters and offers swimming, hiking, and other nature activities. It is a comfortable bike ride away from your fiber activities on quiet back roads (ask which route to take). In fact, we are thinking about developing a fiber art/biking vacation maybe next year with morning/afternoon destinations from Lambs Quarters with classes during the other part of the day. Tell us if this turns you on.
